Windows 10: Amazon Games and Software Downloader

I am having trouble installing Amazon Games and Software Downloader

I purchased Turbo Tax and it says I must have the Games and Software Downloader to down load it?

It is "extracting" the APF file it downloaded. The question is: where to?

It's writing a log file at: C:\ProgramData\Amazon\logs

It download to: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Amazon Games & Software\Settlers7DeluxeGold.afp

It extracted to: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Amazon Games & Software\Settlers7DeluxeGold

It's even got an Autorun.inf and Autorun.exe in that directory which basically means it is the DVD. All I gotta do now is copy and burn! *Big Grin


I wonder if this has 1.09 or if something somewhere will have to download it? *Confused


Edit: Yes it was 1.09. The burn was successful and I installed from my burned DVD9 without issues. Everything went exactly how I expected it to. *Big Grin


Under Expansions -> Treasury, all of them are listed as "Purchased." On Ubisoft's webstore, it says Deluxe Gold includes the upcoming DLC4 too! *Big Grin

The Amazon downloader doesn't have to be running to launch games. I bought both Armas from Amazon. Once you have them it's just like they were installed from a disk, no interface, nothing. I really like the service. I don't know abouth backups, though. I just did a format, so I'll download one again and let you know. I would buy with confidence, though, even without the backup.

So it seems as though you can, depending on the Publisher, and with Ubisoft it might not matter what vendor you choose.
