Windows 10: Notification stays in the notification center even after viewing it

I am running Windows 10 Pro 1803. I was running Office 2013 STD. and it was all fine. I upgraded to Office 2019 STD and now when I receive emails the email notification stays in the notification center. It does not automatically clear itself anymore like it did when I was using Office 2013. All the settings are correct.

Yeah, thats not a solution she is interested in......I've suggested that course of action. Thanks though.

Just to clarify, I feel that there MUST be a step, or series of steps to turn off JUST the wireless notification sound. Thats what Im driving @ here.

  Type settings in search bar and hit

  Go to system.

  Select notifications and actions.

  Click on turn system icons on or off.
  
• 
  Turn off action center.

For us to properly address your question, we would like to verify if we got your concern right. Are you trying to terminate the notification right away or let it stay visible for a few more seconds?

To change or adjust the time span of the notification, follow these steps:

• Open Settings and select Ease of Access.
• Click Other options.
• In the right pane, look for Show notifications for, and adjust the duration.
