  1. Desktop PC cannot connect to wired internet connection.

Hello I need help getting connected to the internet. I have searched for a solution but nothing has helped. I have had no network connection for about a month now. Network trouble shooter cannot correct the problem. says there my be a problem with my ethernet driver. manufacturer of the network card doesn't give any support, directs me to HP, Hp doesn't support or supply drivers for windows 10 and according to everything I have found Microsoft only does updates through Device Manager and when I use a laptop to find what I am searching for the results are for the laptop I am on. I have a netgear router and the wifi is perfect, no issues. I want to download a driver for Qualcomm Atheros AR8152 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller but can not seem to find where to do that. I have tried uninstalling and restarting. doing things through Command Prompt, System restore (2 times) etc. I have gone through Device manager and checked the properties for the controller. The device is working properly but states the driver needs further installation. There is no roll back driver available. Trouble shooter says windows can not bind with the IP protocol stack. Yes I have unplugged and restarted both the modem and router several times and still no internet.

My PC has a wired internet connection, I do not have wifi on it. Pryor to losing my connection completely for well over several months I had issues with games lagging, slow connection and so on. Thought it was my internet service or the site I was on because lots of people were complaining of the same issues but now I'm thinking it was on my end.

ANY HELP WITH THIS ISSUE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED !

    :)

share internet connection in pc desktop &laptop

    Operating systems on each computer?

If the desktop has two ethernet connections, you can set it up so that one has the modem (internet) and the other is connected to the laptop (cable from desktop to laptop).

If you want wireless, you will need a router unless you have a wireless connection and ethernet connection on the desktop, in which case you can do the same above, only instead of cable from pc to laptop, its wireless connection from pc to laptop.

  3. Cannot connect to the Internet

Can we get a little more information:

    1) Do your parents still have internet connection? (I assume they do, considering you're here asking questions)
    2) Can you ping the computers within your home? I would like to verify that the switch is functional and working.
    3) Verify that the 40 meter cable is actually intact. Can you connect your parent's pc and your pc (parent-switch-pc) and ping one another?
    4) How are your soldering skills? If you want to invest a few dollars, you can make a wire connection tester. Given that you have 40 meters of wire, it might be worth the investment. If you want plans shoot me a PM.
    5) Do your parents have a router? Rarely have I seen a modem with two network connections. It is far more likely (in my experience) that a router is in the mix.

Once you've actually verified the house to house connection and internal connections the list of potential error sources becomes far more manageable.

    Internet Connection

    Hi George,

Are you using a wired or wireless connection?

I would suggest you to follow these steps and try to run the Internet connections troubleshooter:

    • Press Windows key + X on the keyboard.
    • Click on Control panel.
    • Type “Troubleshooting” without quotes in the Control panel
      search box.
    • Click on Troubleshooting and click on View all.
    • Click on Internet Connections troubleshooter and follow the on-screen instructions.

    Let us know the results.
