Windows 10: Discussion: Would you like to have the option of 3-6 picture password gestures instead of...

I really want Microsoft to create a collection in the Feedback Hub app stating that we should be able to have a picture password more complicated than just three gestures, for added security. If I have to install a slow ring build on my 15” Dell Inspiron 7558 to really tell Microsoft I’d love this option, I’ll do that as soon as I get home from work today! I’m up at midnight writing this discussion here on Microsoft Answers, by the way.

Windows 10 picture password not appearing on sign in screen

Thank you for the feedback! These are the steps I take when adding (or changing) my picture password:

1. Open the start menu

2. Select the profile icon

3. Select "Change account settings"

4. Go to "Sign-in options"

5. Select "Add" under "Picture password" (or "Change" if there is already one set)

6. Enter my account password

7. Select "Choose new picture"

8. Choose a picture from my computer files

9. Set the 3 gestures

10. Repeat the 3 gestures

11. Select "Finish"

I'm currently running Windows 10 Pro, Version 1703, OS Build 15063.413. Also, I created a new user account and set a picture password but I ran into the same issue of there being no option to log in with the picture password and was forced to use my regular
password.

Sign in with picture

Hi Dretcanu,

In order for you to create a picture password for both accounts, you need to make sure that both your admin and guest accounts are password protected as the picture password will be used instead of your password.

Since you want to enable picture password on both accounts, login with your admin account first, and then follow these steps to create a picture password:

• Open Settings, then go to Accounts.
• On the left pane, click Sign-in options.
• Scroll down to the Picture password, then click Add.
• The welcome page for the picture password will appear. Type in your user account password, then click
  OK.
• Click Choose a picture. Select a picture, then click
  Use this picture.
• Draw the three gestures on the picture, confirm it, and hit Finish.

Once done, logout of your admin account, then login to your guest account. Follow the same steps provided above to create a picture password for your guest account.

To log in with the picture password, click Sign-in options when you are asked for your password. Select the picture symbol and enter the gestures you have set. You should now be logged in to your admin or guest account using the picture
password.

Windows Spotlight- pressed "like" instead of "dont like"

• Do you wants to change the lock screen picture?
• Are you making these changes in the Microsoft account?

I suggest you install any pending Windows updates on the pc to check if that helps. Updates are additions to software that can help prevent or fix problems, improve how your computer works, or enhance your computing experience.

You can turn off the Windows Spotlight feature and then turning it back on and check



Step 1: Right-click on the desktop and then click Personalize to open Personalization category of Settings.



Step 2: Click Lock screen



Step 3: Under Background section, select Picture or slideshow option from the drop-down box.



Step 4: Press windows key + Lock.



Step 5: login back again and follow the same steps from 1 to 3 and change back to Windows spotlight and check if it helps.
