Windows 10: pixma mp970 drivers

I have a pixma mp970 which is still performing well, but I have changed to a win 10 PC and have found a printer driver but not a scanner driver, is any solution available?

Canon Pixma MX870 unable to scan after Windows 10 upgrade

Ray Depew is my new best friend. I have recently purchased a Surface Pro, with windows 10 and followed his instructions for Canon Pixma MP970 which I couldn't get to scan. The only change - when on USA.canon.com site

1. Select Pixma MP970 support page

2. Click on Drivers & Downloads

The operating system defaulted to Windows 10(x64) with the following commentary ..."canon will not issue drivers for this model to support the windows 10 operating system. The windows 7 or windows 8 drivers should function in the windows 10 environment with
some limitations which are currently unknown to Canon." So I...

3.clicked on the drop down arrow and selected windows 8.1(x64) as the operating system.

4. Continued per Ray's previous instructions and my MP970 now scans, both from MP Navigator and front panel of the device

5. 'Unknown limitations' remain unknown to Canon and me.

Steps to install the downloaded software and driver for windows :

1. Once the download is complete and you are ready to install the files, click Open Folder, and then click the downloaded file. The file name ends in exe.
2. You can accept the default location to save the file. Click Next, and then wait while the installer extracts the files to prepare for installation on your computer or laptop.
3. NOTE: If you closed the Download Complete screen, browse to the folder where you saved the exe file and then doble click ..
4. When the Install Wizard starts, follow the on-screen instructions to install the software.

Steps to uninstall the drivers from your computer or laptop :

1. Open Control Panel, then click unistall a program
2. Double click on the printer you want to unistall, and then click yes
3. When the end of the uninstall wizard, click Finish.

I understand your concern about accessing Canon Pixma printer on Windows 10.

Do let us know the following to assist you better:

• What exactly do you mean by Offline and cannot reconnect?
• Have you installed all the drivers for printer after upgrading to Windows 10?
• Is printer being detected on your computer?
• How have you connected the printer to your device?

I suggest you to try the below as a workaround and check if it helps.

Step 1: Try to install the latest drivers for the printer from the manufacturer's website.

Step 2: If the device is not detected on your computer try to run Hardware and Devices troubleshooter.

Hardware and Devices troubleshooter checks for common problems and makes sure that any new device or hardware connected to your PC is installed correctly.

• Press Windows key from the keyboard, type
  Troubleshooting and select it.
• Click on view all option on the upper left corner of
  Troubleshooting window.
• Select the Hardware and Device
  options from the list.
• Click Next to run the Hardware and Device
  Troubleshooter.
