windows 10 updates killing wireless adapter drivers please help

For the better part of a year I've been fighting continual Windows 10 updates that break my wireless adapter's drivers. This experience has been with both the D-Link DWA-192 and a very recent purchase, a TP-Link Archer T9UH. I'll have everything working great, and then eventually Microsoft pushes an update that breaks things again. I will go through multiple drivers, trying everything I can either from the manufacturer or even from Realtek, just getting drivers for the adapter's chipset directly. I am really sick of it. I have tried every trick on every post and nothing will fix it this time. Sometimes I can uninstall the Windows update and that will get things working (obviously temporarily because we can't shut them off for some god awful reason).

Behavior the adapter will exhibit: functions well following a network connect but then slows down progressively til it begins to intermittently disconnect and reconnect. Both the DWA-192 and the TP-Link T9UH function exactly as they should on a secondary Windows 7 machine I have.

My router configuration is perfectly fine and every other device I connect to my network functions 100% and at top speed. I test the machine in question by setting it up a foot away from the router, and there is zero interference.

I have created a WLAN report but do not know how to share it in this post.

    :)
