Windows 10: VPN and Network Bridge

Hello,


I have been having an issue with NAT type on my Nintendo switch. If I plug into the ethernet directly It has a NAT type error. This could be fixed on the router, but I do not have access.


I then tried to use my computer as a hotspot, running the hotspot through a VPN. This worked great and fixed my NAT type issue on the switch, but was too slow for any practical use.


I now have my computer wired via ethernet, a usb adapter connected to both the switch and my computer and a cable connecting them. In the "Network Connections" system settings page I can connect the two adapters to create a bridge network. This worked and got internet on both devices with high download, upload and low ping. However, if I try and share the connection of my VPN and Bridge Network, It no longer fixes the NAT type issue.


Is there a way to connect a VPN and Network Bridge adapter such that it will resolve the NAT type on my console?

To isolate your concern, we would like to know how your network bridge is connected? Is it a wireless connection or a wired connection?

In the meantime, we suggest that you set up your network bridge to refresh the adapter and reconnect the other devices. To do this, follow the steps below:

• Add Incoming Connections from the Internet.
• Bridge the two network connections that you want to use.
• Forget the internal network connection (under
  Manage Known Networks).
• Reconnect to your bridge network.
• Restart your computer and check if your concern persists.
