Microsoft Edge, store and all windows built in applications not working.

    Hi,

I am using Windows 10 pro. The issue is I am unable to use windows store, microsoft edge and all built in windows apps including cortana. It seems none of these apps have internet connection. However, I am connected to the wireless internet through wifi with a ADSL modem. I have been observing all possible reasons of the issue. Also note that Mozilla or other browsers or any other application which is not built in which i have installed later on are all working perfectly fine. I have also noticed that the wifi signal in bottom right corner shows wifi connected without any exclamation yellow sign or any other sign at all but when i point the mouse over on wifi signal bar it says "identifying" "No internet Access" which certainly is wrong as all other applications are working fine.

Another thing which i have noticed is that this issue is faced only when connected through ADSL modem. Whenever i connect the laptop with wifi using my phone's hotspot everything works 100% fine. All window store apps, edge and cortana works without any problem. Whereas there is no issue with the ADSL modem as all other devices desktop, cell phones, and tablets connected with the modem works perfectly ok.

This indicates that there is any issue with network settings with the window. I have tried doing a lot of research and found that this issue is very common and seems like every other person is having this issue.

Please look into this and help me out as it has become very annoying.

    BR

    :)

Microsoft is developing a built-in ad blocker for its Edge browser

"One of the first browser add-ons many people install to improve their online experience is Adblock Plus or something similar. Until recently, Microsoft Edge's lack of support for add-ons put off a lot of would-be users, but reports from Build 2016 suggest that native ad blocking is on its way to the Internet Explorer successor.

Adblock Plus is coming to Edge, but built-in ad blocking would negate the need for such an add-on. A slide shown off and snapped at a Build presentation shows that the next version of Edge, in response to user feedback, will feature ad blocking capabilities. There's no word on delivery timescale, but the upcoming Windows 10 Anniversary Update would seem a likely candidate.

ZDNet's Ed Bott photographed the slide which shows Microsoft's development roadmap built around feedback from testers. Right at the top of the list is reference to plans to create a plugin and extension store for Edge, but it's entry number four that's more intriguing.

"Build ad blocking features into the browser" is listed as a Feature Request from users. But the good news is that it is not only listed as being "Deliverable 4682811", but as "Targeted for the next version".

This will no doubt come as good news for those who have fallen in love with Edge, but it's not something that will be welcomed by the likes of Adblock Plus. It does seem that, particularly in the mobile arena, there is a move to baking ad blocking into the browser so it makes sense that Microsoft is following the trend. But it is the fact that Edge straddles Windows 10 on the desktop and Windows 10 Mobile that makes this a particularly interesting move.

Keep an eye out for Insider builds in the coming weeks as the feature may be just around the corner.
    "

Forget extensions, built-in ad blocking is coming to Microsoft Edge - [UPDATE... no it's not!]

  3. Windows Store, Microsoft Edge

    Hi,

This error code might appear when the system failed to connect to Windows Store. It might be caused by a third-party software or program that prevents accessing default applications. For better assistance, we would like to ask the following:

    • Have you made any recent changes on your computer prior to the issue?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

Meanwhile, we suggest that you run the troubleshooter for Windows Store and Microsoft Edge. For your reference, check this
article on how to run the troubleshooter for Microsoft Edge. Follow these steps on how to perform
    the troubleshooter for Windows Store:

    • On Cortana search, type troubleshooting.
    • Select Troubleshooting from the list.

Microsoft store and Edge not working

    Hi Javier,

There may be an issue with the settings or files of Windows Store and Microsoft Edge that is why they cannot connect to the Internet. If you currently have the version 1709 (Fall Creators Update) of Windows 10, you can use the repair app tool to resolve
the issue. To run the tool, follow these steps:

    • Click the Windows logo (Start button).
    • Click the gear icon (Settings).
    • Select Apps.
    • On the left pane, choose Apps & features.
    • Look for the Windows Store app, and then select it.
    • Click Advanced options.
    • You can choose either "Repair" or "Reset". Choose Repair.
    • Do the same steps to Microsoft Edge.
    • Access Windows Store and Microsoft Edge to see if they will connect to the Internet.
    • If the issue persists, we recommend that you use the reset tool. This will clear the data of the apps. You can follow the same steps again but instead of choosing "Repair", choose
      Reset.

Let us know how it goes.
