    Why no native podcast support in the UK?

    Since picking up my 8X a week ago, the issues around getting podcasts onto the phone is the single most distracting and frustrating aspect of this new device, and new OS. Downloading and listening to podcasts was probably the most used feature of my 7.5
    device - couple of hours per day (covering my daily commute). I didn't spend that long texting, calling, checking emails, playing games or browsing the web.

    I'm in the UK, and have tried every suggestion appearing on these forums. None has been satisfactory.

    There are lots of ways of getting podcasts onto the phone, but they all appear listed under music, which is a big problem. The only way of getting them listed as podcasts that I've found is to use the Windows 8 Windows Phone Desktop App. That then allows
    you to mark them as played, and bookmark progress through longer ones (some are 90 mins or more), which is essential if you need to go back to a partially complete podcast.

    However, the Desktop App is 100% unreliable and barely usable. It crashes on every single sync, and scans the whole library on every start.

    I am therefore this close [ ] to giving up on WP8 for podcasts and going back to my Zune (yes, it was difficult to source and set up in the UK at least initially). I'll give it another week and see if anyone finds any decent workarounds.

    Why no native podcast support in the UK?

    I am in the same situation as you, this was what I mostly did with the phone...I got an 8x before I realised this was an issue. Luckily I got it on Amazon and also had the device reboot issue with that phone, so sadly I returned it. It was a lovely phone, but
    I have now ordered an 800, at least I get the functionality back. They better not break it with the 7.8 update...
