    Microsoft Achilles Heal has been definitions updates since 1803. How can I stop them?


    I have reinstall or install about 5 OS because of definition updates. Example: Feb 12, install all Patch Tuesday updates. Maintenance ran find and everything ran great. Did an cold restart and no problems. Wednesday afternoon when I turn my Dell on. Many different blue screens, never the same error description, lost keyboard and mouse and crashes. Became necessary to pull battery to get by buzzer. Then it because necessary to inset battery to get by buzzers. Finally Sunday Morning I got it stabilize to were I thought I could do an restore before Patch Tuesday Updates. This problem and many others are the result of turning on my computer and it auto downloads an definition update. All suggestion on Internet on how to stop them no longer applied. Disable protection doesn't stop them. Even the 10 group policy for Home Pro are useless, try checking on Sunday and then never, but nether could stop daily definitions update. I see only two ways. Keep my computer on 24 hours or make sure computer is remove from network before turning it off. Suggest that the definition update department be told that they are not gods but mere mortals.

    When in win10:
    • Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....
    Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
    - Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.
