  1. Not all apps work on the desktop drop down box Windows 10.

When I click on the desktop (right click) I get a dropdown box. Clicking on some of the items produces no results except a rotating cursor that eventually results in a screen that goes black and resets to original screen state if I re-click a second time after an extended time. The prime problem is that the new folder tab does this all the time when clicked. However some things work including view, sort, AMD catalyst control and refresh while others do not including display settings, new and personalize that act similarly and only reset the screen if I re-click a second time. I note also when the icon spins for a long period, nothing else can be accessed using the mouse, etc.. Like it is locked up.

I have researched on line in another trail and found that none of the suggestions for not being able to create file folders fix the actual issue. I have tried most all of them except completely reloading windows. Nobody in the other string mentions the box with other items than new (folder) in the desktop drop box so do not know if this is an additional symptom. People have been writing for years regarding the NEW FOLDER issue and I saw no real help from Microsoft. The problem just started a few months ago with this two year old Dell desktop. Nothing significantly changed on the PC at that time to the best of my recollection. I have 1809.

    :)

  3. Ahhzz Win User
    Windows 10 Tweaks

As you may already know, Windows 10 (as well as Windows 8) allow you to log in with a valid Microsoft account, instead of creating a local account that only works on your machine. However, you may prefer to keep a local account for privacy reasons. If you do, though, some Windows 10 features—like Cortana—may not work. Despite the default behavior, the Windows 10 Store is not one of them. You can still log in to your Microsoft account for just the Store without switching to a full Microsoft account. The process, however, is not terribly obvious. To do so, follow these steps:

    • Launch the Store from your Start menu.
    • Click the user icon next to the search box.
    • Click “Sign-in” from the menu that appears.
    • Choose “Microsoft account” and log in like normal.
    • When the “Make it yours” box appears do not enter your password. Instead, click “Sign in to just this app instead.”
