automatic repair loop and bootres.dll is corrupt

    Hi!
Can somebody from MS give a proper answer how to solve the problem after an update when windows 10 run's in an infinitive loop of Automatic repair?

Here is the log file snippet:

    Root cause found:
    ---------------------------
Boot critical file c:\efi\microsoft\boot\resources\custom\bootres.dll is corrupt.

    Repair action: File repair
Result: Failed. Error code = 0x57
    Time taken = 6796 ms

I'm searching for the folder: c:\efi\microsoft\boot\resources\custom\

but no way to find one.

What is the right solution to solve this problem?

Please don't post "reinstall the OS" or similar.

I'm not familiar with that kind of solving.

    Thank you very much.

    :)

    Hi Charlene,

Your concern regarding the device going into an Automatic Repair Loop can be caused by change on its settings/configuration or broken system files. To effectively assist you with your concern, can confirm if you've made any changes on your device prior to

As an initial step to get back into the normal Windows screen, we suggest that you perform a

    • On theAutomatic Repair screen, select Advanced options.
    • Select Troubleshoot.
    • Select Advanced options.
    • Select Startup Repair.
