    I understand your concern and will assist you to resolve this issue.

    I suggest you to reset the Winsock and TCP/IP stack and check if it helps.

    Step 1: Follow the steps given below to reset Winsock.

    a) Press Windows key + X, select Command Prompt (Admin)

    b) Type “netsh winsock reset” in the Command Prompt shell, and then press the Enter key.

    c) Restart the computer.



    Step 2: Follow the steps given below to reset TCP/IP stack.

    a) Press Windows key + X, select Command Prompt (Admin)

    b) Type “netsh int ip reset reset.log hit” in the Command Prompt shell, and then press the Enter key.

    c) Restart the computer.

    IP address lease 192.168.1.2 for Network Card denied by DHCP server


    @Samuria, I had a look at my modem router's settings (in a browser at http://192.168.1.1), and saw this -

    I wonder if ticking the "Lease duration" field, so that "Permanent lease" is enabled would help to resolve this issue? I'm sorry, but this topic is technically over my head - how do I find out if the IP address is being used by something else which may have logged off? Thanks a lot.
