Windows 10: The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000017). Click OK to close the application.

I receive this error whenever I try to open a system tool like regedit, task manager and mmc.exe. I also can't access administrative programs from the control panel even though I'm the admin. Is there a way to solve this problem without resetting it?



I'm using Windows 10 Pro

Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-4005U CPU @ 1.70GHz

4.00 GB RAM

64-bit Operating system

I am trying to install Tableau Public 2018.2, but after the completion of the installation when I try to open it, the "the application was unable to start correctly (0xc00007b). click ok to close the application" error
is shown. I tried rebooting my computer, tried it running as administrator, reinstall/uninstall it several and also updated my system but nothing worked.

Before the above (0xc00007b) error; I had

"The program can’t start because api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem"

after updating the windows and rebooting this error is gone.

Most of the application not starting its included even cmd.exe, start menu, network, notepad.exe... nothing is opening and getiing like "cmd.exe - Application Error The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005). Click OK to close the application."

My system windows 10 licensed version.
