  1. Hosts edit

I saw a github post about hosts to prevent bad sites Here so i downloaded the file and copy pasted the entire thing to "hosts" and saved it using notepad on desktop and moved it to system32\drivers\etc\hosts and replaced the original.... Since then I'm not able to connect to internet...wifi and Ethernet...even though network is accessible on other device in my laptop it says " No internet"

I tried to replace the hosts with the copy i just made before editing...but it says it being accessed by another program...when tried deleting it says it's being accessed by DNS client

So now I'm not able to edit ...nor delete...please help... ( I'M just a normal user... don't know much about all these ...i think i messed up..help!)

    :)

  2. Unable to edit Hosts file

    Hi,

We would like to ask how are you trying to edit the host file on your computer? Is there any chance that you are doing it via Notepad as administrator? If not, you can try doing the steps below:

    • Press the Windows key and search for Notepad.
    • Once Notepad is available, right-click and select Run as administrator.
    • In your Notepad, Click File > Open
and search for the following file: c:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts
    • You can edit the changes as normal
    • Click File > Save to save your changes.

Let us know how it goes.

Step 1. Move file hosts from
    C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\ to
    Desktop.

    Step 2. Edit (in Notepad)

    Step 3. Save your changes.

Step 4. Move file hosts to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\

  4. Hosts edit

    Windows Script Host

    Hi Tiara,

The message "Windows Script Host access is disabled on this machine. Contact your administrator for details" is usually occurring if a program that does not require the feature of Windows Script Host is running on a Windows PC. For us to provide an accurate
solution, we would need you to answer the following questions:

    • Which build, version and edition of Windows is installed on your computer?
    • Does the message appear when you are launching a specific application?
    • What changes were made to the device before this issue happened?

For initial troubleshooting, we suggest following the steps provided by
    Ramesh Srinivasan
    in this thread.

We are looking forward to your response.
