Windows 10: how to stop windows 10 update from re-installing

Hi,


Can you tell me how to stop certain windows 10 update from re-installing.


I have HP zbook G5 with docking station, after windows doing the update, sometimes when I press power button from docking station, for some reason the notebook doesn't start up, so I have to press power again to power off and power on again.


How do I check which device driver is install/updated during windows update?, since when I click on windows update history only list windows update only, it doesn't list which device driver is updated?


It seems that windows update the device driver anyway even I set do not update device driver from system properties on control panel.


In the past when I uninstall certain windows update on windows 10, next time I re-start, it re-install the update again, unlike windows 7 I can set to hide that particular update, then it won't re-install next time windows update is run.


I start noticing this power issue from docking station after KB4480966

That doesn't stop windows update from grabbing them on next run, at least it didn't back in the RTM days. It simply stops a secondary process from installing them immediately.

• Click "Properties"
• Click on "Hardware" tab
• Click "Device Installation Settings"
• Tick the "No, let me choose what to do"

It's basically what I mentioned above, small issues here and there ,but nothing to end your day.. for the most part.

I know it's anecdotal, but for my experience 95% of the time it's perfectly fine. The issues I've run into wouldn't be enough for me to roll back , but they would be enough (had I not installed it yet) ,to avoid it for another couple weeks which is why I'm suggesting it to the OP
