Windows 10: Bluetooth speaker cannot actually connect as a speaker

Hello,


Recently, I've been trying to connect my bluetooth speaker to my laptop, and the speaker connected no problem. I switch the sound over to the device and I find that the sound quality in my speaker sounds really really bad! So I tried doing a little research on the problem and I got to the sound manager screen where it shows the device as two potential devices. One as a Hands-free headset, the other as headphones. I figured that's why the audio quality was so bad was because it thinks my speaker is a hands free device. Then I was faced with another problem. When I right-click on the headphones option and choose to connect to the speaker as headphones, my laptop just straight up does not acknowledge the click. I click on anything else, it works just fine. I tried disconnecting from the device as a headset, still won't let me connect to the speaker as headphones. I tried completely forgetting the bluetooth device and reconnecting to it, still won't. I tried reinstalling the driver software for the speaker, and everything is up to date for it.


Do you guys know how I can possibly fix this problem, or why it even is that my laptop won't let me click connect to connect to the speaker?

Bluetooth speaker wont connect to laptop?


I'm having some trouble figuring out what to do here, my Bluetooth speaker wont connect and isn't even discoverable by my laptop. i want to connect my Bluetooth speaker to my laptop but when i go to Bluetooth settings my speaker does not show up on the list of devices. I have un-installed and re-installed the drivers, i've reset the Bluetooth driver management service and Bluetooth support services but still nothing is working, any help would be much appreciated.

just in case you need to know the specs.
speaker: Bush soundbar model-BSB02BT20
laptop: Hp Elitebook 8470p running windows 10

please help!

 

Bluetooth speaker not playing

Hello Tanya,

Your Bluetooth speaker might be paired with your PC but not connected. You can try the following steps to manually connect it:

• Make sure your Bluetooth speaker is turned on.
• On the far right of the Windows taskbar, press and hold (right-click)
  Volume, and then select Playback devices.
• On the Playback tab, select the Bluetooth speaker, press and hold (or right-click) it, and then select
  Connect.
• Select your Bluetooth speaker, and then select Set default. Music should play on your Bluetooth speaker now.

Let us know if performing the steps makes any difference.

 

connecting to Bluetooth speaker

First activate pairing mode on the loudspeaker. Often a 5 second long-press on its power button will do the trick - or find it in the manual for the speaker.

Next, on the phone, swipe to App list > Settings > Bluetooth.

Toggle Bluetooth on, if it's off.

Wait for the phone to find and display the speaker on the Bluetooth page, tap the speaker in the list on the phone and complete the pairing.
