  1. Ethernet cable might be unplugged or broken

    Excuse me sir,

My wifi was working fine till yesterday and i have wlan and i have never used a cable network. When i was gaming suddenly my wifi got disconnected and i could not reconnect to my wifi. I have tried the following steps below,

    1)Update the drivers

    2)Speed and buffer setting change

    3)Checked the BIOS settings

    4)Ran cmd commands

    5)Ran the troubleshooter

    6)Reinstalled the drivers

When i ran the troubleshooter i got an error message which said that my ethernet cable might be broken or unplugged.

So i thought that might be the problem and i checked my bios boot to see if my network could be recognized. I found out that it could not read my network, my wifi card. Could you please tell me if it is an hardware problem or can i fix it through some other troubleshooting step which I missed out thank you sir.

  2. My ethernet is pretending to be unplugged or broken since upgrading to win 10

    Evening all

My Ethernet cable was working fine an hour ago on windows 8.1, its a brand new cable and a brand new laptop. The wifi is working fine since upgrading to windows 10, but my Ethernet cable says its either unplugged or broken

It is most certainly not and ive tried unplugging it and plugging it back in, turning it off and on etc.

To no avail - I'm not very technical so a simplistic answer worthy of a woman whose brain is full of dusty fluff would be appreciated..

    "Ethernet Cable Unplugged"

    Good day,

I keep on getting a notice that my Ethernet Cable is unplugged. I have an Acer laptop and there are no loose cables that I use. This happens when I use public wifi.

Please help urgently! This is extremely frustrating because it prevents me from connecting to free wifi services.

    These are the details:

    Manufacturer: Realtek

Description: Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller

    Driver version: 10.1.505.2015

    Thank you!
