  1. Win 10 SOund

After using Win 10 for several years without any significant problems, the Feb. 2019 update has given me Sound problems. I followed all the suggested fixes, from Troubleshooting, to driver update and uninstall device. After a Restart, all of the above worked until I shut down. I needed to go through one of the above procedures to get sound again.

I finally Reset to an earlier point. After several hours of waiting and restoring apps the reset didn't load, I was back in business for several days. Win 10 automatically updates, whether you like it or not, so I am without sound again.

Who is running this comedy show? If updates are causing a problem, how does a company like Microsoft continue to promulgate the problem by forcing updates on you that may cause problems? We should be allowed to accept or reject/delay updates at our discretion. Whose computer is it anyway?

Has anybody found a permanent solution to fixing the Win 10 Sound problem?

    :)

    Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue Win 10 SOund :p

    Sound Quality

One thing that sticks out from looking at your "My Computer" specs. You list "ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)" which suggests you do not have the correct sound hardware driver. Your motherboard has Realtek sound and the first step is to install the Realtek sound drivers. My ASUS also came with Sonic Studio 2 which is a sound enhancement package. Check the ASUS install disc to see if you have something similar.

May not be a speaker problem.
