Windows 10: Mouse keeps shutting down to try and save power...

I never had this problem before but recently my wireless mouse seems to shut down after a minute or two. I think it's about saving battery power.


I only have the windows driver installed, no outside company driver - i've tried to download several drivers from 'Tecknet', the company that made the mouse. It's just a generic 5-button mouse driver. It didn't even seem to install itself. I think the mouse is supposed to just use generic Microsoft mouse driver.


I've checked under the root hub, power management tab to see if the checkbox regarding 'power down to save energy' is unchecked. It's never been checked.


It an annoyance to have the mouse power down every few minutes. Sometimes you click to turn the power back on and it hasn't turned off so you end up clicking when you don't want to. I've closed browser windows and such - things you don't want to do!



Any suggestions?

mouse is not working right


unfortunately there isn't a lot to a usb mouse. what i would suggest is checking the power management settings on it.

Right-click the start menu and choose device manager
Expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers at the very bottom
Double-click on each HUB you have listed, click Power Management Tab at the top, and UNCHECK "Allow this computer to turn off this device to save power"
You may have HUBs called Generic and Root Hub. Perform the step above on All of them.

If you continue to have the issue, i would imagine your mouse is malfunctioning. Perhaps try another mouse just to be sure. This will help you determine if it is in fact the mouse of computer causing the issue.

Won't shut down or restart -- error X0X

The issue might occur if the computer is not shut down properly. so, I suggest you to perform a power drain by follow the steps below and check if it helps.

• Shut down the Computer.
• Remove all power source (including battery if it is a laptop).
• Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds.
• Connect the power source and start the computer.
• After the computer boots to the desktop, suggest you to install all the pending updates.
