Need Help Copying Files from HD to New Computer

I need a little advice copying files from an old hard drive to my new computer.

I’ve removed the hard drive from the old machine, connected the drive to my new machine using a WEme MST-003 USB converter. The converter works great for some files. Yet, there are other files denying me permission to access. I can’t open or copy the file(s).

The files blocking me access are from the same original account as those allowing access.

On the original files, I updated permissions in security settings to allow me access and changed ownership to me. This seems to only work one-file-at-a-time. This wouldn’t be so bad except there are thousands of files. I tried using Powershell and received the “cannot access file” error. I can’t seem to change a folder and all of its contained files all at once.

Any thoughts on what else I can try?

    :)

    Java.nio.file - Copying files

You can't copy a folder, thats why it generates an exception (you are trying to copy a folder using a copy file function).
You probably need to list all the files inside that folder and copy one by one
