Windows 10: Bluetooth audio stutters constantly, unusable

I had to replace my motherboard and reinstalled Windows 10 Professional (64 bit) since then my Bluetooth headphones are unstable and constantly stutter. Despite having a 100m range Bluetooth adapter moving just 1-2m away generally loses the connection. Even the smallest movement causes the audio to stutter or cut out. The connection seems to work a bit better if I switch them from stereo mode to hands-free, but the quality of the audio is very poor in that mode.

Alternatively, when I pair the same headphones to my phone there are no audio issues and the range is 10m or more. I have purchased a new Bluetooth adapter and a new pair of headphones and get the same results.



Have tried:

• Reinstalled all drivers, including audio drivers
• Uninstall, reinstall Bluetooth
• Shut off WiFi to check for interference
• Tried with 4 different Bluetooth audio devices, speakers/headphones always the same issue

• Ran Bluetooth and audio troubleshooter

Audio driver conflict causing stuttering?

Unfortunately, I did the instructions as mentioned in the thread and the stuttering persists. I used the link provided: and the steps requested

I also tried reinstalling the Realtek Audio drivers as suggested by the thread to no avail.

I've also added some links of how the stuttering looks and sounds like to the main post of this thread. I hope it helps identify the issue.

One more thing I noticed after the above steps is that I can boot with Nvidia HD Audio drivers disabled but the stuttering persist. Enabling then disabling "cures" the stuttering for a while. Although, when this is happening while the Nvidia Audio drivers are
disabled (as there is an enable option) the icon doesn't look like one that is normally disabled (with a small circular arrow down icon).

Lumia 930 Denim update - Bluetooth music stutter

Having had a battle with stuttering sound tonight here you have my conclusions using Nokia 920:

• Stuttering only occured when playing music with Bluetooth connection
• NO stuttering playing music via phone's speakers (i.e Bluetooth OFF)

• This should prove that: Music being played isn't corrupted in any way (Ripped my own cd's for testing this)
• This is MAYBE a Bluetooth only-issue (but my tests indicate other...)

To make things more complicated, here's my (short) story:

I earlier had a small BT-speaker that worked flawlessly with my Nokia 920. Never had any stuttering at all.

Then I bought a new BT-speaker...

It could be that the new patch arrived (and got installed) before I bought the new speaker, and that's the reason why the stuttering is appearing.

But now I'm getting the stuttering but I have ruled out some more conditions for when the stutterings occurs. Some of them seems to contradict others in this post - but this is what's happening to me!

This is what's happening with Bluetooth connected and wifi turned off :

• Streaming audio from my NAS to the phone = No stuttering at all
• Streaming audio from Swedish public radio(I.E. random website) = No stuttering at all

So my conclusion is that BT COULD be working as intended (at least for me) but I get the stuttering ONLY when I play stuff stored on the phone

 

Bluetooth Audio Stuttering

Bluetooth audio stutters with network activity. Have tried updating drivers through Windows update as well as updating manually from the websites for the particular components. Laptop is a Dell Inspiron 5559 with a Intel Dual Band Wireless - AC 3160. Running
driver version 18.33.7.2 on the network adapter and Realtek Audio driver is version 6.0.1.8176

Disabling any audio enhancements does not work as it is only linked to network activity. The same Bluetooth device works fine with Android and Apple devices as well as other operating systems, only seems to act up on Windows 10. Tried another Windows 10
device with the same results.
