Windows 10: Sign in using Pin no longer available

Hi,

I got a new Windows 10 Home laptop.

During set up it asked me to input a Pin as a sign in option.

For the first day of use it defaulted to the Pin as a sign in option.

After that it did a BIOS update.

Since then, it prompts to sign in using password only.

On another PC there is a "Sign in Options" button on the sign in screen and I can choose between password and Pin.

On the new laptop there is no button to do this.

Remove sign in pin

I suggest you to follow the below steps to remove the sign in pin/password options.

• In the search box type sign-in-option.
• Click on the sign-in-option.
• Then you can find password/pin/picture password.
• There you can remove the option and check.

Can't use my PIN to login any longer

To further assist you in signing in to your Windows computer, you can follow the steps provided below:

• 
  From your
  lockscreen, check if the "Sign-in option" is available.
  
• 
  Then click the option to use PIN.
  
• 
  Enter PIN.
  
  

If that didn't work, we highly suggest that you create a new account/PIN that you can use to log in to your computer.

Pin Login not available and can't change or remove my pin

Hi Saschavan,

To help you disable your PIN login, kindly follow the steps below:

• Go to this location: Settings/Accounts/Sign-in options
• Check the PIN options and click the I forget my PIN available to click?
  
• Enter your password, it will prompt you to enter a new PIN.
• Click Cancel and your PIN should be disable upon reboot.
