Windows 10: Unable to send or receive mail from my iCloud Mail Account in Windows 10 Mail

HI there I have recently bought a new NUC PC and am experiencing Windows 10 for the first time. I am a long term Apple user, and have a current iCloud account which I want to use. I have followed the instructions for setting up the account, but can neither send or receive mail from this account, despite Windows telling me that the account has been setup successfully.


HELP!!!


My Windows 10 experience thus far is very frustrating, please someone come back with a solution, otherwise I am very likely to format the drive and put Linux on it.

Windows 10 Mail will not send for iCloud account

I've been using Windows 10 Mail with an iCloud (and gmail) account for several months. Recently my iCloud account has been unable to send emails,
receiving is ok and calendars are all ok - and sync to my iPhone.

I get an error message and the email is moved to my Drafts folder.

I can send iCloud emails via web mail and iPhone so account is working, just not via Windows 10 Mail suddenly.

Is it possible to set up more than one email account when using Windows Mail? I hate Thunderbird because I could never get more than one email account set up and be able to send mail from both accounts. The outgoing servers kept on getting mixed up.

Yes, Windows mail (on Vista) is almost identical to Windows Live Mail (which I use here at work on XP), and have multiple accounts set up.

Windows Live Mail has one of the best out-of-the-box spam detectors I have ever seen in an e-mail client, and of course, it's free.

The one thing I like about WLM over Windows Mail on Vista, is that WLM does not use popup box verification when you delete the entire junk mailbox (it does, however, on the deleted mailbox). If I hit the delete key for a whole mailbox, I mean it. Honestly, you don't have to ask me if I am sure about what I am doing.
