Windows 10: Windows 10 - GP Reg Edit - Only have Calendar, Power and Sound icons on taskbar

Hello,


I work in an education environmnet and the students here must only be able to see the Power (battery), Volume/Sound (speakers) and Date/Time (Calendar) on the taskbar and no other icons.


Within Group Policy - User Configuration/Policies/Administrative Templates/Start Menu and Taskbar. I know you are able to remove certain icons, such as the networking icon. However is you enable "Hide the notification area" then all the icons are removed apart from the Date/Time (Calendar).


Also within Group Policy - User Configuration/Policies/Administrative Templates/Start Menu and Taskbar. If you disable "Turn off notification area cleanup" then all the icons, that the students should not be able to see, are collasped in the taskbar within∧" id="MathJax-Element-1-Frame" role="presentation" style="position:relative;" tabindex="0">∧" id="MathJax-Element-1-Frame" role="presentation" style="position:relative;" tabindex="0">∧" id="MathJax-Element-1-Frame" role="presentation" style="position:relative;" tabindex="0">(Show hidden icons). Does anyone know of a GP or registry setting that will hide this "Show hidden icons"?

System Icons on taskbar

Thank you for posting on Microsoft Communities.

Are you referring to the clock system icon on the taskbar?

If so, I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below:

• 
  Click on the search bar on the taskbar.
  
• 
  Type system icons.
  
• 
  Under Turn System Icons ON or OFF, turn On the Clock and check with the issue.

Sound icon missing from taskbar

Which build is currently running on your computer?



As an initial step I would suggest you to install all the pending updates and restart your computer, check if it fixes the issue.



Make sure Volume button display is enabled in taskbar.

• Open settings window
• Click on personalization, on left pane select task bar.
• On right pane click on 'select what icons appear on the taskbar'.
• Toggle volume icon to make volume icon appear on task bar.

Battery icon missing from Windows 10 taskbar

I attempted to follow your steps however, the battery icon "on" switch is grayed out. Do you have any other suggestions?
