  1. Frequent RAM and Memory Spikes

So i am taking college courses online. Often very often in fact Simulators crash or my computer will freeze up. My operating system started off as windows 7 and now has been upgraded to ten Pro.

My hardware specs are as the following..

    Current Operating System

    Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

    CPU

    Intel Celeron G1610 @ 2.60GHz 19 °C

    Ivy Bridge 22nm Technology

    RAM

    6.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 665MHz (9-9-9-24)

    Motherboard

    Hewlett-Packard 2ADE (SOCKET 0)

    Graphics

    DELL E170S (1280x1024@60Hz)

    Intel HD Graphics (HP)

    Storage

    149GB Seagate ST3160318AS (SATA ) 25 °C

29GB SanDisk Cruzer Glide USB Device (USB )

    Optical Drives

    No optical disk drives detected

    Audio

    Realtek High Definition Audio

The issues i'm having occur on simulations and when i run the program bluestack 4. Either one will crash my system in the middle of the task. I start up task manager .... takes a while to load and when it does My CPU usage displays any where from 80-90% . Memory at 90-100% My Disk usage will be at around 40 % Network no more than 10%

I intend to but new RAM however that wont be possible for another 2 weeks. That when my financial Aid Kicks in.

My question to Microsoft what can i do if anything to help the computer run those programs smoothly . The requirements for simulators i do are only 4GB and i must have bluestacks to access certain features. I am taking Computer System Information i have 6GB of ram as you can see. I'm puzzled why it keeps crashing please help me I eagerly await a response.

    :)

Windows Creative Update Memory Usage Spikes

    Hi,

Runtime Broker is a Windows process in Task Manager that helps manage permissions on your PC for apps from Windows Store. It should only use a few megabytes of memory, but in some cases, a faulty app might cause Runtime Broker to use up to a gigabyte of RAM
    or more.

To stop the Runtime Broker process, kindly follow the steps below:

    • Press Ctrl key + Shift key + Escape key to bring the Task Manager.
    • Under processes locate Runtime Broker.
    • Right-click on the process and choose End Task.
    • Restart your computer

If the issue persists, we suggest you to disable Get tips, tricks, and suggestions as you use Windows in the Notification & Actions settings of your computer. Kindly follow the steps below:

    • Press the Windows key.
    • Type Notifications & Actions.
    • Deselect the option Get tips, tricks, and suggestions as you use Windows.
    • Restart your computer.

Should you have further queries, feel free to post it.

  3. Issues with total memory size of dedicated available RAM

    Hello Gevorg,

Thank you for posting your concern in Microsoft Community an we regret for the inconvenience.

From the description provided, I understand that the motherboard you are using has 4 DIMM slots which supports up to 8 GB of dedicated RAM.

To be able to understand the issue better. let us know how are you viewing the total memory size of dedicated available RAM in your PC.

Now, in one case, if you are using more than one module of RAM, and the frequencies at which they operate are not the same. There will be two outcomes:

    • The modules will conflict in terms of DIMM frequencies and it will declare memory failure.
    • Instead of downclocking one or more RAM/s, the motherboard will reject the ones from being accepted.

In order to ascertain if the hardware is correctly configured, I suggest you to check the system information in the BIOS settings. Refer to the manufacturer provided manual to know more about on how to access the BIOS settings.

In another scenario, your computer may also be allocating part of your RAM to other hardware modules, such as your network hardware.

As a secondary workout, I suggest you to increase the Virtual Memory and check if it helps. Follow the steps below.

    • Click Windows key + R to open the RUN command utility and type
      msconfig.exe, then press ENTER.

    • Click on Boot option and select advanced options.

    • Check the maximum memory box and change the value accordingly.

    • Click on Apply and Ok to save changes and click Restart the computer.

Hope the above information is helpful.

    Thank You.

    Frequent RAM and Memory Spikes

    Frequent Memory Dumps

    Thank you for your response.

I have uninstalled cccleANER as suggested.

I have turned off real time scanning on McAfee Total Protection.

    A couple of questions:

    1. How can I check that I am not getting Memory dump files anymore? - they were detected by cccleANER
    2. How can I check that I'm not getting interference between Malwarebytes and McAfee? - i.e. I need to know what level of RAM?
    Thank you for your assistance
