Windows 10: Can I Turn An Xbox One Into A Windows 10 Desktop PC?

So I have an old Xbox One, and it is the original. I got it as gift a year or two after its release. Lately, I took it apart, as it had been running very slowly. I cleaned up all the dust and replaced the thermal paste. But now I have came up with the idea to make it able to do more than just play games...


So I am now thinking about getting a 1TB SSD installed, and use the console as a Windows 10 Desktop PC. I will copy everything from my 2011 Toshiba laptop's HDD, and then install the SSD in the Xbox One.


I chose the Toshiba laptop specifically, as I recently did a hard reset. When I checked for the Toshiba applications/programs, there was nothing on the laptop. I actually had to go to the Toshiba website to find the boot driver that showed the Toshiba logo at startup! The laptop used to have Windows 7 before the hard reset. However, after the hard reset was finished, the laptop automatically redownloaded Windows 10 Home 64-bit. I think that the Xbox One supports 64-bit, as I'm sure that 64-bit is better. I assume this because I got a backup copy of Windows 10, in case if one of my laptops' HDDs failed. The 32-bit download was quite smaller than the 64-bit download...


With this information, is it possible to turn the Xbox One into a powerful desktop PC?

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Xbox One won't turn on via the Xbox App on Windows 10 Professional

I followed the above steps, and was pleased that it worked---at least yesterday evening. I turned of the xbox, went down to my Windows 10 Pro PC and had it turn on and connect. The only weird thing that happened is that the first attempt to connect said
I needed to be logged in, but the 2nd attempt worked.

Unfortunately, I tried again this morning and I couldn't turn the xbox on using the app. It saw it in the app list, it just wouldn't turn on. I also tried from the iphone app, but again it wouldn't turn on. Finally, I turned it on manually (using the,
"xbox on" voice command).

After that, I've since turned it off and was again able to turn it on using the xbox app. Any reason why it might fail turning-on after being turned-off for 10 hours?
