  1. Can not tell whether I have a virus or malware on my PC

    Hello,

I have Windows 10 and twice tonight ran my Window Defender's full scan to search for viruses -- I'm not sure if it also detects malware; however, the full scan does not seem to complete. The first time I ran it, the line showing its progression stopped for a good twenty minutes, and so I cancelled the scan and started all over; the second time, the same thing happened but instead of cancelling, I let it run, and lo-and-behold a message popped up stating the scan had completed and no viruses were found. The problem is I can't tell if this second scan truly completed, because its progression was very strange: after stopping for twenty minutes -- full stop -- it then zoomed to the end and popped up with a no-virus message. This doesn't seem to be the way it worked in the past.

I wonder if I have malware or a virus on the computer, partly because a setting on my AOL was changed, though I don't remember changing it myself, and I also received a dual verification, asking for my AOL password when, in fact, there was no need for it. I also downloaded the free version of Malwarebytes, but I find it hard to believe it's actually scanning as everything is over in about thirty seconds. Not sure what to do.

    Thanks,

    Daffy D

    :)

Is it a Virus or a Malware or something else?

    Hello Joes,

There's a possibility that your device is infected with a malware causing why you're unable to delete the game on your laptop. In order for us to assist you better, we'd like to ask the following:

    • Aside from formatting the hard drive, what other troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?
    • Have you asked your friend where did he download the games?

To identify if your computer is infected with a virus or malware, we recommend downloading and running
Microsoft Safety Scanner. The scanner can easily detect if there's any virus found on your device. To do so, follow the steps on this
    link.

We are looking forward to your reply.
