    Good day -

I'm virtually computer illiterate. So, how can I eliminate "Misleading:Win32/Lodi" virus.

Please, no computer jargon, because I don't know what it means.

    Thanks . . .

    :)

Advisability of leaving misleading:Win32/Lodi on my laptop

The threats detected on MY machine where of the same type i.e. "Misleading" but they are not identical to the one you encountered. Also, those setup.exe files that contain the threat on my computer are never active - they are just sitting in the source directory
"just in case" but are never run.

The only reason I posted here was, to let you know that the "Exclusion" feature of Windows Defender has not worked for me.

I do not know if we are dealing with a "false positive" here but it appears the signature for this threat has only been recently added to Defender. If you check https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wds...opedia-description?Name=Misleading:Win32/Lodi
you will find, it is described as making "misleading or fraudulent claims about the files, registry entries, or other items on your PC". To me that means, as long as I don't fall for those misleading claims, I should be ok. Unfortunately, as long as Defender
THINKS it's a threat, Defender will remove that threat and I have not found a way to prevent Defender from leaving it alone.
