Windows 10: Gmail and google issues with Chrome on Dell Lenovo Laptop running Windows 10

Hello,


I have a laptop that is only a few months old, but is turning unworkable very quickly. It started to stop workin this month, likely after some of the Windows updates that I recieved. Now, the internet generally is slow, pages often do not load completely on the first shot, I often get the error saying that my connection is not secure (even when on secure wifi at home), and most inconveniently, my email is ceasing to function. In Gmail, on chrome, I can open emails, but they are not marked as read afterwards. I can type emails and replies, but I can not save nor send them. More resource intensive sites, such as FB or Youtube, cease to respond well with time, and the computer needs to be restarted frequently.


Microsoft edge can now exhibit similar problems.


If you know the source of the problem, your help will be much appreciated!

Google Chrome and Gmail in Windows 10 not working correctly

I have installed Windows 10 on my Dell desktop. I have used Google Chrome and Gmail for a couple of years as they work well together, or at least they did before I upgraded to Windows 10.

• Chrome freezes often on webpages. No links will work. Try to close Chrome and you get a message saying that there are downloads in progress (I have observed it say as many as 12). There is no other evidence or reason to believe that there are downloads
  occurring. If you close the tab, you often get the "Jim's Dead" screen. I would switch to Edge but some of the plugins I use (LastPass) won't work in Edge.

• Gmail often won't let me attach a file to outgoing email. It also won't let me download attachments on incoming mail. Closing out Chrome and restarting computer (a real pain) will allow attachments and downloads for a little while but then the problem
  reoccurs.

( BTW........When you post a question on this site, Microsoft needs to add a Windows topic of: Issues running 3rd party software. There is no real topic in the dropdown menu that fits this problem.)

 

Windows 10 and Google chrome problems

As you have mentioned that now you rolled back to windows 7 ultimate.I would suggest you to follow the steps given below and check.

Uninstall and reinstall Google Chrome and check

To uninstall and reinstall Google Chrome follow the steps given below.

• 
  Press start button.
  
• 
  Select Control Panel.
  
• 
  In Control Panel , Click on
  Programs
  
• 
  Then Click on Programs and features.
  
• 
  Select Google Chrome and Click Uninstall button
  

Uninstall Chrome prompt dialog appears and the further uninstallation process continues if you click uninstall button. Once Google Chrome gets uninstalled, you can download and install Google Chrome from its official website,
and check if issue persists.

If issue still didn’t get resolved by the above mentioned steps, I would also suggest you to post the query in Google support forums for more help.

Google Chrome not working windows 10

• Is the issue confined to Google Chrome?
• Have you tried uninstalling/re-installing Google Chrome?

There could be several reasons for this cause. I would suggest you to try the steps below and check the result.

Uninstall Google Chrome and then re-install

Press Windows key + X and click Programs & Features

Right click Google Chrome and click Uninstall

Re-install Google Chrome and check.
