  1. Windows 10 Search not indexing settings app and control panel

    I am running Windows 10 Pro 1809 on a Dell XPS 15

For some reason, search does not show any results from the settings app or the control panel. I have tried rebuilding the index, checking for the index in

    %LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\windows.immersivecontrolpanel_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalState\

(which no longer seems to apply in modern Win10 builds)

I also followed all of the instructions in:

    https://superuser.com/questions/958279/windows-10-settings-not-indexed/1127947#1127947

as well as restarting, re-enabling cortana. Nothing works.

What else can I do to debug/fix this issue?

    :)

  3. Windows 10 Search not indexing settings app and control panel

I tried copy-pasting the folder from another Windows 10 computer that didn't have this problem. Within a couple of minutes, the search indexer picks up the folder and the settings appear.

Links to pages in the "modern" control panel don't work. Links to pages in the old-style control panel do (for example, I can search and click "Indexing Options" and it opens just fine. The problem has to do with why Windows isn't creating
    the "Indexed/" folder.

If anyone knows anything about this, I'd appreciate the help!

    Hi Jeremy,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused.

I see that you are not able to create indexed folder,

I suggest you to login to administrator account before trying these methods.

Please follow the below methods and check if it helps,

    Method 1:

    1. Press Windows + R for Run and type
Control for Control panel then Enter.

    2. Select Indexing Options

    3. Click Modify

    4. To add or remove a location, select or clear its check box in the
Change selected locations list, and then click OK.

    5. If you don't see all locations on your computer in the list, click
Show all locations. (If all locations are listed, Show all locations won't be available.).
If you want to include a folder but not all of its subfolders, click the folder, and then clear the check box next to any subfolder that you don't want to index. These folders will appear in the Exclude column of the
    Summary of selected locations list.

Method 2: To show files from an indexed folder showing up in search results

It might be because of the security settings for that folder. For a folder and its content to be indexed, it must be configured with the System permission. Most folders already have this, but there are some cases where a folder
