    Hello,


    I think I have a common problem with the Microsoft Sculpt wireless keyboard/mouse I purchased a number of months ago. It has previously worked continuously with no problem but there is now an issue with connectivity. I've tried all the suggested fixes in various forums and run numerous checks:


    - The light is on the bottom of the mouse is illuminated

    - In order to regain use of the devices I repeatedly have to force a reboot on my computer, or unplug the USB transmitter and it functions for maybe five mins before going off again

    - I have replaced the batteries in each component and reinstalled the drivers for the keyboard

    - I have another wireless device paired with my laptop, which is working fine/and I've tried removing this to purely use the Microsoft devices but this makes no difference

    - I have tried Troubleshooting and Removing the devices - claims that the issues have been fixed but the mouse/keyboard are still not responding

    - I've followed instructions to change USB ports- but it doesn't seem to actually be sensitive to the port as the mouse/keyboard intermittently works in either 1, 2 or 3

    - I'm told my machine doesn't need KB4074588/ KB KB4090913 or KB4088776 installing - though to be honest I am not sure what would potentially be needed

    - Occasionally get the pop up message "USB Device Not Recognized" although many times it stops working without an error message

    - My machine is a Lenovo Think Pad Model 20J1004DUK System Type x64 using Windows 10 Pro Version 10.0.17134 Build 17134


    Any help appreciated, as this is completely impacting on my ability to work efficiently!

  2. Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse is not working

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community and thank you for posting your query.

    To assist you better, I would like to know what is the make and model of the computer?

    Let’s try simple troubleshooting steps and check if this helps in resolving the issue. Follow the below methods.

    Method 1.

    For the issue with network connection. I would suggest you to run Network troubleshooter, it will automatically troubleshoot the network problem and check. If it helps.


    • Press Windows + X keys on the keyboard and select Control Panel.

    • Type Troubleshooting in the search bar on the Control Panel.

    • Click on View all on the left navigation pane.

    • Click on Network troubleshooter.

    • Click on Advanced on the Network troubleshooter dialog box and click on Run as administrator (Enter the credentials if required).

    • Click on Next and follow onscreen instruction complete the Network troubleshooter.
    Method 2.

    For the issue with mouse, I suggest you to go to the below link, select Windows operating system, try downloading the mouse driver and install the same.

    Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse

    I have a Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse. On its underside, there is a On/Off switch, the blue tracking light and NO connect button. I only have the mouse and not a combo keyboard set. Does this mouse need the associated keyboard to be recognized by my
    computer (that has Bluetooth and other Bluetooth devices paired / working)? Is there a secret to placing this mouse (alone) into pairing mode ? Nowhere on this mouse, even with cover removed, is there a product code.

    I understand the inconvenience you are facing in accessing Sculpt Comfort Mouse on Windows 10.

    This issue might have occurred due to corrupted/ outdated drivers, try the below and check if it helps.

    Step 1: I suggest you to uninstall the mouse drivers.

    • Right click on Windows key,
      select Device Manager.
    • Select Device Manager.
    • Expand Mice and other pointing devices.
    • Right click on each of the drivers and click on
      Uninstall.

    Step 2: Manually install the mouse drivers from the link below.

    Choose the current operating system under
    What operating system are you using?
