Windows 10: Blue Screen after WIn 10 Update - need to know if personal files can be saved

Hi - Windows performed an update to the latest version over thw weekend, failed and I tried to restore back to an earlier time point. Now my laptop is refusing to load Windows and I have various blue screens! I have downloaded the Creator Tools on to a USB and none of the approaches are successful I cannot repair, restore, diagnose etc anything on the laptop.


Seems my only option is to reinstall Windows using the flash USB I have created.


But can anyone tell me in very clear and concise words whether this will result in the loss of all the personal data I have on the laptop or whther this method will simply create a new Windows folder on my c partition and move all the old Windows files to a Windows (Old) folder?


Grateful if anytone can confirm I will get the option to save persoanl files during the Windows install process.

Blue screen error in Win 10, bad_system_config_error.

Have been using Win 10 for a year with no problem, but came into office with the a blue screen list of please select your keyboard language. It would appear that it is frozen in the beginning of the repair mode. I do not have access to the desktop and
repeated hard reboots gets be back to the same screen. Do not know if problem was an update downloaded overnight or hardware. Suggestions?
