Known issues and additional information about Surface Laptop 2

We are listening. Quality is a top priority, and we want to keep you informed about issues impacting customers. The following is a known issue:

Symptom Workaround We're aware that the Intel Graphics Control Panel Windows Store app, which installs with their latest graphics driver update, is currently experiencing compatibility issues with Surface Laptop 2 devices, and we're working with Intel on a fix. Please note that this compatibility issue does not affect the performance of your Surface. Once we have a fix, your Surface will be updated automatically, or the app can be manually uninstalled without affecting the performance of your Surface. When using a Surface Laptop 2, you may experience one of the following symptoms:

After several hours of use, the device appears to stop responding and the screen appears black. While this issue occurs, you may hear the fan running inside the device.

The device crashes and displays a blue screen with the following error message:

"Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart...”

This issue is now resolved by installing the Surface – System – 4.1.139.0 update from Windows Update.

If you disabled the Ambient Light Sensor to work around this issue, you need to re-enable it.
