Windows 10: Microsoft store tile stopped being "live" last week

Version 1809 (OS Build 17763.503)

All available updates applied.

No disk errors.

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

sfc/scannow


And no viruses or malware.

I run Malwarebytes premium along with MS's anti virus


The Windows store tile, on my laptop, has always been kind of quirky.

The Windows store app itself does work, in that I can use it to get updates to installed apps as well as look for and install new apps.

It's just that the tile itself ceased being "live" about a week or so ago.

Prior to last week, its normal behavior was that sometimes it was live and sometimes not.

And if I left it alone, it would sometimes begin being live once again all by itself.

In the past, I was always able to "kick start" it, by opening the app, choosing "setting" and the turning off "Live Tile" and then turning it back on.

But, that no longer works.


I tried uninstalling Microsoft store and reinstalling it. (That did't fix the issue.)


I also ran the following batch file. (Which didn't fix it either. Although the batch file seemed to run just fine.)

Although the functionality of the Microsoft Store app is not impacted, it is still kind of aggravating.


I'm not very smart when it comes to these things so I would really appreciate suggestions or ideas.

I suggest you to follow the below steps in order to stop moving Windows live tiles.

• Right click on the live tile.
• Click on more option.
• select turn off live tile option.

Store Live Tile no longer works

I guess that's why they added the icon. *Tongue

Things that make the Store's Live Tile work for a short period:

• Turning the "Show products on tile" option off and then back on from within the Store's settings.
• Resetting the Store.
• Uninstalling and reinstalling the Store with Powershell.
