Windows desktop wallpaper changed without my knowledge around the last few days

I use a folder with a selection of my pictures as desktop wallpaper slideshow. I found in the last couple of days that it is displaying the last image that I edited. When I checked Settings, I found it had changed to the folder that I use whilst editing images. Both desktop and laptop seemed to have changed and I am sure the laptop was displaying the same image as the desktop - can't be sure because I was not immediately sure what was happening.

I have reset the laptop back to its normal folder and the desktop is also on it normal folder also.

Was there anything in the recent update that changed settings for desktop wallpaper. I know it is an annoying feature of Windows updates that the default settings of many things are changed unnecessarily.

P.S. A suggestion: - many of these updates need a restart, would it be possible to have an option that makes a sound to let you know that it is waiting for you to login again.

    :)

  3. Desktop wallpaper for new users

    Hi Alaa,

Setting default users lets you specify the wallpaper on user's desktops and prevents other users from changing the image or its presentation. You can check these steps on how to set wallpapers from all users:

    • Type run on the search bar and press Enter.
    • On the window, type gpedit.msc and click OK.
    • Locate and click Administrative Templates.
    • Select Desktop > Desktop > Desktop Wallpaper.
    • Tick Enabled, and name your wallpaper.
    • Select Apply and click OK.

After performing the steps above, you may restart your PC.

Let us know the outcome. We will be glad to assist you.

Windows desktop wallpaper changed without my knowledge around the last few days

Desktop wallpaper slideshow does not randomly select pictures, and cannot change the folder.

    I'm using Windows 10, 64-bit.

Over the last few days, I noticed that the desktop wallpaper images do not change to random pictures, but goes in sequence. Also I cannot change the selected pictures folder I want to use for my desktop wallpaper slideshow.

    Any suggestions?
