Windows 10: When I run the windows defender offline scan, dell backup and recovery pops up and prevents...

I am using Windows 10 version 1809 on a Dell Inspiron 15 5000 Series laptop. I just want to do a full check of my computer with the offline scan, but the dell backup and recovery shows up and prevents the scanning. Is there anyway to work around with this?

Dell Backup and Recovery Prevents Windows Defender Offline From Running in Windows 10

I run Windows 10 on a Dell desktop computer and cannot get Windows Defender Offline to run because the reboot takes me to the Dell Backup and Recovery menu. Is there a way to get Defender Offline to run without the Dell menu getting in the way?

I did not make any hardware changes. I have Windows 10 Home, version 1709, build 16299.98. The system is a Dell XPS 8700 that originally had Windows 8 preinstalled. I let it update to the latest version of Windows 10. I've tried to find out if there
is a way to disable the Dell recovery menu that appears and prevents Windows Defender Offline from executing. When I exit from the Dell menu, the system then reboots normally. I have not been successful in finding out how to get around this problem. I have
an old Gateway laptop running Windows 10 and Windows Defender Offline runs fine on the laptop.

 

Windows Defender Offline Scan

I have attempted to run a WD offline scan to correct a malware or spyware issue, during the restart a restore / backup option was displayed with no available backups in the list. Why am I seeing this error? A side note, the offline scan never ran, jst
the prompt for the backup/recovery. Thanks for any assistance.
