Huh, do I need or would it help my pc be safer ie: Windows 10 in S mode atop of my existing Windows 10;


Sounds like S mode is 'extra security (layer)' but on my Lenovo T430 (refurbished - bought amidst middle of 4 / 2019 from pc's for people.com for about $160), I'm minimally techie, may 'GET' more than my average local folk.


But I'm of course keen on pc security, don't do gaming or Netflicks, more just email processing & web surfing, maybe casual YouTube music video or old movie / film watching, but if even say (?), Kirk (Star Trek) it's the ship (in this case my pc) that I gotta keep 'right'.


Like whether software & hardware firewall (s), minimal else of security, misc utilities & tool's (whether downloaded or online / web), pc is merely a tool for me. So nevertheless, I just was curious.


Plus also I inquired in another post re: my Windows 10, trying to get the right honest & trustworthy download package for XP look unto a Windows 10, you know what I mean though.


As YEAH, I got the classic shell program, & managed to tweak or get the XP start button & start menu looking cool, BUT it was the Olive Green taskbar I could figure out BUT though the background image I'm not worried about as I got another instead > Standing Jesus over a kneeling man - as HE breaks his chain's off him < I'm sure you could find the Black & White photo / image online / web. WELL . . . okay then . . . Good day to all. Oh, I'm in Los Angeles, California - USA.

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

 

Installing Windows 10 on New PC?

I'm going to be building a new PC on Christmas and want to install Windows 10 on it. I have Windows 10 on my current PC, which I installed upgrading from 8.1 with the files on a USB. How do I go about installing a clean copy of Windows 10 on this new PC? I think I recall something about installing it once makes Microsoft recognize your hardware, but since this will be a PC I'm not sure what steps I need to take. Do I need to go 8.1 -> 10 or is there a method of going directly to 10?
