  1. Dual boot, OS clean install, but still icons from other OS appear.

    Hi folks,

I have a few installations of windows 10 on two separate partitions on an SSD drive on my computer, one is a barebones windows 10, that I use for general surfing and the other windows 10 installation has a lot of music apps etc.

I was having some probs on one of the installations of 10 , the barebones installation and did a clean install on that partition, after formatting it.

Now I was surprised to see some of the music icons from the other installation appear on the desktop after installation, and wonder what is the explanation for this, is it possible that I have somehow asked Microsoft to back up my apps (a little like the android system) and they are simply restoring them to the new installation which I don't want.

    Any help gratefully appreciated.
    Many thanks
    Joe

    :)

  2. Dual booting OS

    Hi,

I would like to install dual booting windows 10, both OS in same hard disc. I would like to confirm that no issue to have partition C and D in both OS and no access from each other?

    Thanks,

    Ratna

    Dual booting OS

Dave is correct, However, If you take ownership of C:\ System (Windows) when you are booted to each OS. Then depending on why you are asking this, as in you do not want others to access the other OS, then Take ownership as mentioned. Then you MUST add your
user name in the list with full permissions/control. Then you would remove all users in the list

EXCEPT KEEP THESE>>YOUR NEWLY ADDED USER NAME, SYSTEM, AUTHENTICATED USERS

    REMOVE USERS>>>ADMINS, USERS & EVERYONE

Now for an OS you are booted to. You can add other users in the security users list for C:\ and/or C:\Users & C:\Users\Programs and Programs (x86) & C:\Windows

if there is others with user accounts on that OS. And then grant them the permissions you want to allow.

Because you have removed the user ADMINS, so they need to be granted permissions to access the OS as normal.

Look in Part 2 for detailed steps for ownership, permissions and sharing

    Dual boot Phoenix OS

    Hi !

    I have a HP 15 da0002tu notebook preinstalled Windows 10 .

I need to dual boot windows and phoenix os.

So I installed phoenix os to my harddrive from the exe installer. It installed successfully but when I turn on my laptop it keeps boot directly to windows 10 without showing any boot option to select the other os.

I tried to disable secture boot and turn on legecy boot but no difference . I enter boot option menu manually ( F9 ) but there is no Phoenix Os there.

    At there,

    1. OS boot manager(UEFI)- Windows boot manager

    2.Boot from EFI file

    3.Notebook Hard drive

No option to select phoenix os.

And I installed EasyUEFI and according to easyuefi there is a phoenix os boot entry.

What should I do now . Please help Dual boot, OS clean install, but still icons from other OS appear. :)
