Windows 10: Office - Taskbar - Jump List - Right Click - No Remove Command

Just started in last couple of weeks -- when I right click an Office icon on Taskbar (Word, Excel) and then right click, only a blank pop-up window appears. Same thing for Office icons in Start Menu. Does not show a "Remove this item" or other commands. It looks like this:



Instead of a list of commands, the little window is blank. I have tried turning off the 'Show recently opened items in Jump List on Start or the taskbar' in Settings, but the behavior repeats when I turn this feature back on.

Further -- other items on Taskbar show the correct behavior like this one for File Explorer:




So, it appears to be only the Office icons that have the problem.
Will appreciate any thoughts. Thanks.

Hi Ken,

For us to better assist you with the taskbar Jump Lists issue, we'd like to know the following:

• Were there any changes made to the computer prior to this issue (e.g. Windows updates)?
  
• Does the issue also occur on other pinned apps/files?
  

In the meantime, we suggest to turn off/on Jump Lists in Settings. To do so, please follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key + i to open Settings, then select
  Personalization.
• In the left pane, click Start.
  
• Turn Off then turn On Show recently opened items in Jump Lists on the Start or the taskbar.

Microsoft Office Taskbar Jump Lists

There was a Windows update about a week ago. Seems like this issue has been plaguing me for more than that but can't say for sure....

The issue occurs for all pinned apps. (i.e. no jump lists for any icon on the taskbar)

I did as suggested to turn off/turn on the jump list setting--no change. I still can't get them.

Help is greatly appreciated!!

 

Microsoft Office Taskbar Jump Lists

I use the jump lists frequently to access Pinned or Recent Files. Approximately a week ago, they stopped working. None of the Office products show the jump lists when right clicking on the product icon. I tried updating/repairing the Office 365 products
which apparently did a reinstall but the jump lists no longer work. Any ideas?
