Slow playback issue over any media content, triggered over time

    Hello,

I'm having an issue with media content (mostly videos) that I'm not sure how to troubleshoot and I'm writting here to see if anyone can shed some light over this issue.

Right now I'm running Windows 10 Education with a Sound Blaster Omni and Nvidia graphics card and I mainly use SMPlayer for videos, altough when the issue triggers it doesn't matter what media player I use (or even the browser in youtube).

The issue I'm facing is that, for some (unknown right now) reason, when I'm watching videos and load a couple of them, one at a time, there is a time when the last video I've loaded appears on SMPlayer on slowmotion or even still and doesn't move, despite the play its triggered. When this issue happens, I can open any video anywhere and has the same issue: local or network videos with any media player on the PC or even YouTube videos on any browser. The Youtube video just keeps loading and I get the message that something is amiss and I should restart the browser, but it always keeps the loading circle. This is "fixed" by restarting the whole PC, then I believe something clears and I'm able to play any video again without issues.

I believe this issue happened again in the past, but I did a format and installed Windows clean and didn't appear for quite some time, but now its back again and I'm not sure what to look for.

    Things I've checked:
    • SMPlayer logs: They seem to not trigger any issue and display that they're playing the video.
    • Windows Event Viewer: I'm not really good at finding things here, but I wasn't able to find a clear error that would explain the issue.

My guess is that it seems to be something OS related or at least something that multiple applications use, since it seems to affect other media players and browsers, but I'm not sure what to check next. Any ideas?

    :)

  2. Unable to "get media content" from text messages.

My Nokia 920 on ATT was showing this exact error "getting media content" for a long time... finally spent a chunk of time attempting all suggestions above...

    FIXED:

    Note: Didn't help

    - WiFi on/off

    - Back up text on/off

    - Group text on/off

    - Data on/off
