VPN created after a Microsoft agent remote accessed my PC

    Hi Guys,

I used a genuine Microsoft Agent to sort out issues I was having removing 365 and reinstating Office 2016. The guy was nice enough but said he needed to remote access my PC to fully set up Office 2016.

He seemed to do the job, but was cutting and pasting a lot of scripts, so fast that I couldn't follow it.

Today I noticed a VPN had been created name wvpn1, the server address is missing a digit (192.168.1) it's set to a one time password with the user name (sorry for this) b@st@rd c#nt face, but it's all in normal characters I changed some to be less offensive. It was 100% Microsoft help, the VPN would only kick in at times of activity and drop out after a minute of no activity.

Now I know the implications of what that VPN would do, take all info I sent and received as well as give full access to the PC and possibly further into my network.

I've removed the VPN and scanned the Network, what I want to know is there a way of tracing him and also finding the scripts he ran?

Also are other devices likely to be open to this vulnerability? It was 100% a Microsoft Agent he knew my Office 2016 Key before any access was granted. Should I do anything else security wise, is this limited to the 1 PC or is my whole network likely to be affected?

Has anyone else had this happen after receiving online assistance from Microsoft?

    Many Thanks in advance

    :)

It is possible to VPN to a secondary network while using my local network's internet connection AND keep the ability to remote to machines on the secondary network? Accomplishing the first two steps in not and issue.

Need help Windows 10 VPN and Remote Desktop Connection

When your using a VPN connection to create an remote desktop connection to your work PC

The RRAS (Routing and Remote Access Server) vill assign you a uniqe port number.

That port number is between 49152 - 65535.

So in order for the remote desktop connection to work, you need to add that port range allong with port 3389, in your firewall allow list

Here is how it works, and the port numbers:

    Home PC----3389---VPN ---3389---Company Router/Firewall---3389---RRAS---49152-65535---Work PC
