Unidentified Network - Limited network Connectivity every time i boot up PC after shutdown.

    Hi all,

Hoping somebody may have a solution to this as it is driving me nuts. Every time that I shut down my PC, when I boot it back up, I will have no internet access with the above error of "Unidentified network" and/ or "Limited network Connectivity". Troubleshooter can never fix the issue and I have exhausted the options I can find online which include static IP, running various network commands in CMD, driver updates, disabling fast boot, DNS settings changed ect. What is interesting however is that if I "Restart" my PC rather than shutting it down and booting it back up, then I do not have this issue. SO currently I had resorted to not turning off the PC and just restarting once a day, which I am sure you can agree, is not ideal.

Now I should mention here that I am using Powerline Adapters between my PC and Router, however, these have never been an issue on my Xbox or other devices, but if anybody has any suggestions regarding them, then I am all ears as well. Personally I am beginning to suspect the router, but I will wait to see what answers I get here.

So, the only way I have to fix this problem when I boot-up the PC is to actually reset completely both Powerline Adapters. They both appear as paired/ connected to each other and connected to the network, but the light indicator for internet access is off until I reset them both and pair them again.

My theory is that this works because it treats it as a new connection and provides a new authentication token or something along those lines, whereas before resetting, my theory is that it no longer trusts the device (Network Adapter) or my Network Adapter no longer trusts the router. However, it saying "unidentified network" makes me believes there is an issue in regards to storing the connection details, as how can it forget what the network is called so easily?

Any support anybody can give with this would be very much appreciated.

    Kind regards,

    Mat

    :)

  3. Losing network connection

Hello Dear, if you have a laptop or a PC with a wireless network adapter, you can see a list of available wireless networks and then connect to one of those networks. The wireless networks will only appear if your PC has a wireless network adapter installed, the adapter is turned on, and the wireless access point is in range.

    1. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Network and Internet Connections, and then click Network Connections.

    2. In the left pane, under Network Tasks, click View available wireless networks.
In case, If you don't see the network you want to connect to, click Refresh network list. If you see the network but the signal is weak, move the PC closer to the wireless router.

    3. Click the network you want to connect to, and then click Connect.

    4. If you're connecting to a secure network, type the security key, and then click OK.

I Hope you solve out your query soon.

  4. Unidentified Network - Limited network Connectivity every time i boot up PC after shutdown.

    Vista network conflict.

Everyone knows how great Vista is @ discovering devices and networks, but now I have a problem.

On startup, it finds two networks, one is my working "Network" network, and the other is some sort of "Unidentified network".

This is causing a conflict, and I cannot connect to the internet, I can however connect to my IP address, and I do have a signal.

I have tried to go to the network and sharing center, but when I delete that "Unidentified network", both networks disappear. If I do a system restore, internet will work, but as soon as I shutdown/restart, and boot up again, Vista will rediscover that "Unidentified network".

Safe mode w/ networking allows me to go to the internet, as it does not discover that pesky "Unidentified network".

Can anyone assist me in manually deleating this network, and prevent it from coming back?

    Thanks
