  1. Ditch Windows 10

Ok, it's finally time to ditch Windows 10. Let me be clear here - Windows 10 works ok when things are stable. This is however not good enough. It's 2019 and I have never known an Operating System to be so glitchy, slow and unresponsive. The vast majority of users around the world expect to switch their laptops on, and not have to navigate the horrendous problems caused by the shambolic Windows 10 updates.

It is regularly reported by various publications, that Microsoft releases an untested update, which either crashes the laptop, or makes everything run slowly - painfully slow.

How can it be normal for a Windows 10 device to take an hour to switch on, and take minutes between each key press? How can it be acceptable that you can't carry out a basic internet search, or load up a program, and nothing happens?

This is not because I have not kept my laptop up to date, or used incorrect settings. Everything is set as recommended by Microsoft. It happens because Microsoft unleashes a disastrous update which causes everything to grind to a halt. How can this possibly be considered an enhanced experience?

The testing carried out by the insider programme is completely inadequate.

It seems that Microsoft does not listen to users, and insists on this flawed update strategy, which does not work. Everyone in the industry knows this, yet they blindly carry out releasing horrendous updates, with little consideration of the impact it has.

That is why I would say, it's time to ditch Windows 10.

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
