Xbox One Preview Alpha Ring 1811 System Update 181019-1520 - Oct. 22

Starting at 6:00 p.m. PDT today, members of the Xbox One Preview Alpha Ring will begin receiving a new 1811 Xbox One system update (181019-1520). Read on for more about the fixes and known issues in the latest 1811 system update.

Fixes:

Home

USB Keyboard navigation fixes to resolve navigation issues on the console.

System

Addressed the system Out of Box Experience to set the features of Dolby Vision, Variable Refresh rate and low latency modes when enabling 4k mode.

Stability fixes in this build.

Known Issues:

Avatars

It can take up to 10 seconds to view an Avatar on the profile screen after creating a new Avatar.

My Games and Apps

We are tracking an issue in which game and app updates are not automatically downloading and installing.

Power

We are tracking an issue in which the console is fully powering off when it is placed into Instant On mode.

Profile Color

Sometimes users may encounter the incorrect Profile color when powering on the console.

Xbox One Preview Alpha & Skip Ahead System Update 190122-1520 Jan. 24

Starting at 2:00 p.m. PST today, members of the Xbox One Preview Skip Ahead and Preview Alpha Rings will begin receiving the latest 1904 Xbox One system update (19h1_release_xbox_dev_1904.190122-1520). Read on for more about the fixes and known issues in the latest 1904 system update. For the next few releases we will keep Alpha Skip Ahead and Alpha builds in sync to test core functionality.

New Features:

Mini Keyboard

We are flighting a new Mini Keyboard and would love your feedback. If you prefer or require the bigger keyboard for accessibility, it is still available in Settings -> Ease of Access -> Magnifier -> Larger Keyboard. This mini keyboard floats over the UI, so will position itself smartly around textboxes. If you see any positioning or general issues, please file bugs with as much detail as possible (app you were using, screenshot etc.) as we deliberately have minimal logging around text entry for privacy reasons. Keep an eye out for a quest and survey!

Media Remote Programmable Buttons

We are flighting a new feature that enables you to reprogram buttons on your Media Remote. Choose your favorite app to launch when you press the OneGuide button on a media remote.

Access this via Settings>Kinect & devices>Media remote.

Fixes:

Messaging

Framework enhancements to the messaging system to support future feature work.

We have fixed the guide overlapping UI issues when accessing messages in the guide tab.

Kinect Games

We are tracking an issue that various titles using Kinect are crashing.

Profile Color

Sometimes users may encounter the incorrect Profile color when powering on the console.

My Games and Apps:

We are tracking an issue with various bundled titles like Borderlands 2 not recognizing all DLC as owned with valid entitlement

Skype

We are aware of an issue with skype that when a user clicks on a conversation and/or pressing X to start a video call seem to freeze and eventually crash skype.

New Features:

Family Settings

We have added a new setting that lights up the features that allow a non-adult account with no parent to accrue a parent on console.

Mouse & Keyboard Support

We have enabled mouse support in the build. Please check out the Quest in the Xbox Insider Hub to experience mouse and keyboard support in Warframe.

Search Enhancements

The search function has been enhanced across the console and will now return responses from the Xbox Assist application for example to help with help, support and troubleshooting. Please check out the Quest in the Xbox Insider Hub to help us gather feedback.

Fixes:

Audio

We made a change to the workload scheduling of Mixer and Audio to reduce audio glitching issues. Let us know if there are any regressions in Game DVR or Mixer audio.

My Games and Apps

We have fixed the issue in which game and app updates were not automatically downloading and installing.

Notifications

We have fixed an issue with users being prompted and spammed by a “Welcome to Game Pass” notification.

Power

We have fixed issues in which the console is fully powering off when it is placed into Instant On mode.
