Windows 10 Update appears to have uninstalled my Carbonite application without notifying me

I have been using the Carbonite backup software for several years to protect my files. This past weekend, the latest Windows 10 update was installed on my computer and this morning I noticed that the Carbonite application was no longer installed on my computer. This was extremely concerning to me because I rely on Carbonite's automatic back up feature to keep my important files backed up. During the Windows update I did not receive any notification that Windows Update was uninstalling Carbonite. Now I am concerned that Windows Update may have uninstalled other applications that I don't use as frequently and that I may not notice this issue for weeks or even months.

I realize that Carbonite may be a competitor to another Microsoft product but I think it is wrong for Microsoft to uninstall ANY applications or programs on my computer without my permission or notification. This is reminiscent of the issue that Microsoft had years ago where the intentionally downgraded Chrome's performance in order to encourage people to stick with Internet Explorer as their browser.

  2. Carbonite doesn't appear on file menu

I installed Carbonite on Windows 10. When I right-click on a file In Windows Explorer, Carbonite is supposed to appear on the menu to add the file to the backup.
    It does not appear.

  3. Problems with Carbonite

I agree the Carbonite folks are tremendous but three escalations could not figure out what was wrong . This is the latest copy of Carbonite (with the new rather silly icons) .

Since my OS shows the USB drives and all my applications show the USB drives and can access the drives

there is no reason why Carbonite should not find the external drive (which by the way was bought new just to make sure -.

I was told the MSI problem is known by Carbonite (but clients still get it) although mine is baffling.

My PC was 100% replaced by Alienware (which was a great thing because some other minor issues have disappeared)

My suspicion is that MICROSOFT has been tweaking with upgrades although I have set to just notify not even download and I had 120 security updates downloaded.

There are other issues with ""Credential Manager"." something I had not even seen EVER!

The folks at Carbonite will consult with Microsoft as to the possibility that systems are being prepared for Win 10 without telling users, which I would not put past MS.

    Revo Uninstaller

free version doesn't list 64bit applications, hence totally helpless to remove them, while native windows uninstaller will do that.

only paid version revo uninstaller pro does and also another paid program called your uninstaller.
