Windows 10: not able to edit groups in file explorer after win 10 update 1903

hello there the community,

am having a problem attempting to edit my look in folders after the latest win update 1903 as per the uploaded pics below i cannot use the 'group' option in file explorer settings to get my folders looking the way they were before the update without all those silly dated options,(1st pic)

does anybody have any idea how to fix this option please...thanks

File explorer (Grouping files)

I already do something very similar, i was just hoping to be able to have the files in groups rather then as a long list. Hopefully someone knows how to edit these inbuilt group options.

It is odd if windows added a group option, to group files, but wont let me create any groups to categorize the files in.

 

Disable group by in Downloads folder (Windows 10 1903)

Hi, since I updated to the new Windows 1903 version the files in some folders like
"Downloads" are always grouped by the date. I was able to disable this in the File Explorer itself by choosing
"Group by = none". But in all kind of "Save as" dialogs from any application the group by date still appears and in those special explorer windows there is no option to disable file grouping in them. So how can I disable this globally?

Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
