Windows 10: Mouse seems to be stuck in dragging mode

Im on windows 10, and I think I may have lent on my keyboard. I dont know if I did or not, but now my mouse is stuck in a sort of dragging mode. I cant select anything and on my desktop when I move the mouse it forms a blue square from its previous position. When I go over shortcuts it selects all the ones the square encompasses as if I was clicking and dragging.


How do I stop this?


Any help would be appreciated

Stuck in safe mode in windows 10

Safe mode is intended to help fix most, if not all problems within an operating system, it's not good if we got stuck on it. To correct this, we suggest that you follow the steps below to exit out of Safe mode:

• Open Run command by pressing Windows key + R
  keys on the keyboard and type msconfig in the command box and press
  Enter.
• Under General tab, put a check on Normal Startup option.
• Reboot the system and check if the changes are effective.

Let us know if you are able to exit out of Safe mode with these steps.

 

Dragging icons opens the files instead of moving them

1. Start->Control->Mouse and adjust the double click speed.
   
   
   
2. If still does not work then the left Micro Switch in the mouse is stuck. Try another Mouse.

  and hit
  Enter.
  
• 
  Choose
  Hardware and Sound.
  
• 
  Click on
  Hardware and Devices
  to run the troubleshooter.
