Automatically Transfer Pinned Items from Office 2016 to Office 365 Taskbar

I "upgraded" from Office 2016 to Office 365. Microsoft requires that Office 2016 be uninstalled before installing O365 (booo!). After rebooting my computer, the Office 2016 were removed from my Taskbar, even though I specifically left the bad icons there. But they're gone now. I had numerous pinned documents on my Excel 2016 and Word 2016 icons. How can they be restored / automatically transferred to the Office 365 icons. I can't even recall all of them and don't have the old 2016 icons to even see the jump lists.

    :)

  2. Can't remove pinned office applications

My laptop is a Dell Precision 7510, running Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprice 64bit (10.0.15063 Build 15063) and Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus (1701 Build 7766.2092).

My problem is, that beside some useful apps on my taskbar, office has also pinned Word, Excel and PowerPoint. I would like to remove these 3 pinned apps. When unpinning them, they actually disappear, but after next restart (or restart of explorer.exe) they reaper as if nothing had happened.

I have tried following this "guide":
Can't unpin a program from the taskbar

I have seen the above suggestion posted on several sites, but unfortunately it doesn't help in my case.

When executing the script (or preforming the steps manually) all is removed, but after explorer.exe restart below icons always reaper:

    • File Explorer
    • Internet Explorer
    • Outlook 2016
    • PowerPoint 2016
    • Word 2016
    • Excel 2016

Other apps pinned at the time is removed as intended.

Does anyone have a suggestion to how I can remove these unwanted office apps from my taskbar? And why do above list or apps reapear after deleting them from both the %APPDATA% folder and REGEDIT?

    Thanks in advance.

    Office 365 or Office 2016

I am having a similar problem. I have never to my knowledge indicated that I want Office 365 or an Office 365 "free trial"; I have Office 2016 installed on my laptop. The application list on the start menu does not include Office 365. However, Settings/Apps does indicate that it's installed. Today my system was co-opted by Office 365 Click-to-Run grabbing both disk and CPU; this has not happened before.

I bought this laptop two years ago, bought Office 2016 and installed it via Microsoft download as no installation media were provided. I uninstalled the annoying "Get Office" application at that time and have been a happy Word user until earlier today.

I don't know if this is relevant, but this behavior started right after Windows Update installed the August 14 cumulative update (KB4343909). No updates to either Office version appeared in update history.

My questions about how to deal with this situation are:
--Would the Uninstall option in Apps get rid of Office 365 entirely and leave Office 2016 in place and working?
--Is there an effective way to disable or stop Click to Run and keep it stopped?
--Should I change the update setting in Office to Do Not Update? I did try to look at the Office update history, but all I got was an Office 365 sign-in screen--useless because I don't have an Office 365 account.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much in advance.

  4. Automatically Transfer Pinned Items from Office 2016 to Office 365 Taskbar

Office 2016 programs pinned to taskbar

I recently bought a new computer with W10 and also did a download install of Office 2016 Home (non-subscription version). My Word and Excel and PPT shortcut icons are on my desktop but I can't find a way to pin them to the taskbar. Right clicking the icons
has a Pin To Start but not a Pin To Taskbar option. What can I do to get the Office programs on the task bar? Other programs such as Mail, Chrome, Photoshop, IE and Edge have all successfully made it to the taskbar.
