  1. Tombstoned DC without FSMO roles

I'm looking for a quick solution to get my DC-2 to replicate with DC-1 it hasn't replicated in a while, so now DC-2 is considered Tombstoned.

Since the DC-2 doesn't hold the FSMO roles would it be just a simple Demote of the DC-2 and then Promote DC-2 again?

I have checked to see if there were any lingering objects and there were none.

    :)

  2. Not to able to transfer these 2 FSMO roles in Windows Server2012R2

I was trying to move FSMO Roles from one Domain controller to other, I was able to move Infrastructure master, PDC & RID Master, but have issues moving domain naming master and Schema master.

When I try to move these roles through ntdsutil, it throws an error ( Error parsing input - Invalid syntax)

I would request you to please help in this regard.

    Thanks

  3. Server 2012

IF you want to try seizing the FSMO roles to see if it will help, here is a quick guide (this should be done on the DC you want to keep):

    https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com...ation-master-roles-in-windows-server-2012-r2/

Knowing that this is a DC now I'm really convinced that something is wrong with the AD account for this particular server. It's possible that the promotion to a DC didn't work correctly leaving you with a sort of broken DC.

A reboot is always worth a shot; has that been tried Ahhzz? If it has, then the next step would be to demote this DC and rejoin it to the domain. Once rejoined you can run DCPromo again. Microsoft best practice is to have at least 2 DCs for redundancy.

    Tombstoned DC without FSMO roles

    Server 2012

Also don't forget to reset the account in AD Users and Computers to avoid any SID issues.
